A Note from the NCFDD Team

We are feeling energized heading into April, and the reason why is simple: all of our new Institutional Members! We've recently welcomed seven new campuses and more than 2,900 new faculty, post-docs, and graduate students into our community. And as we grow, we continue to look for new ways to help our members thrive in the Academy.

Because we’re focused on productivity heading into the summer, we’ve got some exciting opportunities for you! First and foremost, registration for our summer bootcamp (the Faculty Success Program) has officially opened. Last session we filled up quickly, and we’re already more than half full, so if you want this summer to be your most productive summer ever, consider registering today. To learn more about the program, join Kerry Ann Rockquemore for our popular FSP Preview Webinar: 5 Secrets to a Super-Productive Summer.

We also have a great line-up of learning opportunities this month! Professor Badia Ahad (Loyola University, Chicago) will be teaching our core curriculum webinar on Mastering Academic Time Management. By popular demand, we’re bringing back Professor Josh Schimel (University of California, Santa Barbara) to teach Writing Science: How to Write Papers that Get Cited and Proposals that Get Funded. Be sure to read Professor Schimel's feature article below (As a Scientist, You are a Professional Writer). Additionally, this month our NCFDD workshop facilitators will be visiting campuses around the U.S. (read below to see if we're coming to your campus).

And finally, it’s time for our Spring14-Day Writing Challenge! If you need a boost to get your writing back on track (or to finish a project this term), consider joining our pop-up community. The challenge is designed to help you experiment with daily writing, tracking, and peer support. If you want to learn more, see the short article below.

We hope this month's resources will help you to amp up your productivity, better manage your time, and move towards the summer with a focus on your writing!

Warmly,

The NCFDD Team
